New Orleans RTA picks interim CEO as permanent leader after three-month selection process

 

The Regional Transit Authority board promoted Lona Edwards Hankins from interim to permanent chief executive on Friday following a three-month-long selection process to replace its last leader after his abrupt retirement.

Transdev Completes Acquisition of First Transit

 

Transdev Group has completed the acquisition of First Transit.

 After receiving all necessary regulatory approvals in the U.S. and in Canada, Transdev and First Transit now officially form part of the same company, according to Transdev's news release.

This transaction, announced on Oct. 26, 2022, makes Transdev the leading operator of environmentally-friendly public transportation services in the U.S. and in Canada across fixed-route bus systems, paratransit, shuttle services, rail, light rail, and fleet maintenance. Read More

 

 

VIA Metropolitan Transit adding eight electric buses to its fleet

 

VIA Metropolitan Transit debuted the first of eight electric buses it expects to begin deploying into service later this year. The electric buses are part of the agency’s commitment to more sustainable transit options and the vehicles join a fleet that consist of nearly 500 compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. Read More

"FTA believes that the collection of data on the new S&S-60 form is sufficiently detailed... and that requiring only summary data from Reduced, Rural, Tribal, and Capital Asset-only reporters is an appropriate mitigation of reporting burden"
