ADA Hot Topics – Service Animals, Direct Threat/Denial of Service & Reasonable Modification Requirements:

This course reviews key ADA regulations for assisting riders with disabilities using Service Animals, applying the Direct Threat/Denial of Service regulation effectively, and understanding the implications of Reasonable Modification of Services on transit operations.

Jess Segovia of ADA Guru has spent his twenty-six year career creating innovative, accessible public transit and human services transportation programs and services. Jess is an expert at presenting often confusing and complicated ADA requirements in an easy to understand format grounded in real world scenarios and group discussion. He began his career in Paratransit with Access Services, Los Angeles. And was most recently the ADA Compliance Manager for Los Angeles METRO. Jess now travels the country sharing his philosophy of embracing the Spirit of the ADA and assisting transit agencies of all sizes in enhancing service quality, safety and compliance.
