Examples of Work Performed

Lead a staff team in negotiating complex contracts and leases.

Draft contracts, resolutions, and other legal documents

Prepare and review opinions.

Interpret and apply statutes, regulations, case law, and evidentiary rules.

Participate in managerial planning in different departments to foresee and prevent disputes.

Attend conferences and meetings of various commissions and boards as assigned.

Serve internal clients including Transit, Airport, Public Works and Utilities, and Information Technology

Requirements of Work

Graduation from an accredited school of law and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Kansas or eligibility for admission by reciprocity.

Minimum of five years of experience in professional legal work, preferably for a municipality
