A pivotal opportunity is available for a Test Engineer to join Vix Technology in a systems integration – quality assurance (SI-QA) capacity. The SI team holds responsibility to provide system integration solutions and associated QA and control activities for our cutting-edge fare payment customer solutions. You’ll join the local SI-QA team that is responsible and participates in all aspect of QA and miscellaneous project activities for customer projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Ownership of assigned quality assurance and project activities
• Test overall integrated system, hardware and software, and customer specific implementation details
• Performing test design and test execution for assigned system components and features
• Performing test result evaluation, defect tracking and reporting for assigned areas
• Participation in QA and project related planning activities
• Participation in the creation of necessary QA artifacts as per QA processes and contractual obligations

What does our ideal candidate look like?

• BS/MS degree or international equivalency in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or relevant combination of education, training and experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in QA and testing-related roles in product engineering and/or IT settings
• Significant commercial experience with test design, test execution and results evaluation, including defect reporting
• Solid understanding of the full QA lifecycle, from planning/strategy, test design, execution, to results evaluation and quality reporting, including related methodologies and tools
• Adept in understanding and reviewing customer requirements and technical design, including proactively providing input/feedback early phases of the delivery lifecycle
• Deep technical aptitude and understanding of complex integrated systems, including client/server, cloud systems, embedded devices, networking, web services, APIs, Unix/Windows OS, mobile
• Skilled in understanding customer and end-user behavior and needs, including integration and utilization of this knowledge in system integration
• Solid trouble-shooting skills and technically adept in diagnosing system and/or infrastructure problems
• Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal form, demonstratable excellence in documenting problems and defects in a concise, clear, and precise manner
• Adept to navigate a chaotic, unstructured environment with frequent priority changes, while promoting structure and not being afraid to suggest improvements
• Result-oriented individual with passion for quality, customer, and executional excellence
• Quick learner that can work independently

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with external customer-facing roles and settings, with ability to interface with customer around QA and project related aspects 
• Experience with transit fare collection, financial, and/or PCI/payment industry and solutions 
• Experience with service software such as AWS, CRM, Ax, IVR, web portals, etc. 
• Hands-on experience with Performance /Load Testing 
• Experience with hardware and/or embedded components testing 
• Experience with customer-focused testing, such as UAT, pilots, beta-trials
• Hands-on Unix/Shell scripting, SQL and/or OOP experience

It would be an advantage if you also have:

• Hands-on experience with test automation and automation frameworks/tools 
• Experience with and understanding of regulations and standards, such as IEEE, ISO, CMM 
• Experience working within geographically dispersed teams
• Experience with a wide range of engineering productivity tools, from source control, change and defect management, test management
• Experience and exposure to Vix Technology solutions and systems 
• Relevant industry certifications
