SWTA and ELERTS Partner to Present National Webinar on Reducing Transit Worker Assaults

Industry leaders to share proven strategies, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to protecting frontline transit employees

The South West Transit Association (SWTA), in partnership with ELERTS, is pleased to announce an upcoming national webinar, "Reducing Transit Worker Assaults: Proven Strategies from Transit Agencies Across America," scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CDT.

As public transportation agencies across the country continue to address growing concerns surrounding employee safety and workplace violence, this timely webinar will bring together respected transit professionals to discuss practical solutions, emerging trends, and successful strategies that agencies can implement to better protect frontline transit workers.

Transit worker assaults remain one of the most significant challenges facing the public transportation industry. Bus operators, customer service representatives, maintenance personnel, dispatchers, and other frontline employees regularly interact with the public and often face difficult situations that can escalate quickly. These incidents not only impact employee well-being but also affect workforce recruitment and retention, agency operations, customer service, and public confidence in transit systems.

This educational webinar will provide attendees with valuable insights into how agencies are successfully addressing these challenges through leadership initiatives, improved reporting processes, employee engagement strategies, safety-focused organizational culture, and innovative technology solutions.

"Transit employees are essential to keeping our communities connected," said Heather Dalmolin, Executive Director of the South West Transit Association. "Creating safer work environments for the professionals who serve our riders every day is critical to the future of public transportation. This webinar brings together experienced leaders who are actively working to address these challenges and share solutions that agencies can implement immediately."

The webinar will feature a distinguished panel of transit and safety professionals, including:
