Commemorating the founding of SWTA at Bullfeathers Restaurant in Washington, D.C. in 1980, SWTA members will once again gather for the annual Bullfeathers Breakfast on March 5, 2026. This special event brings members together to celebrate legislative, policy, and advocacy successes at the local, state, and national levels and to present the annual SWTA Legislator of the Year Award. The breakfast is open to all SWTA regular, professional, and business members, with free registration required.

In addition to the Bullfeathers Breakfast, SWTA will join transit leaders from several state associations and partner with CTAA on Capitol Hill from March 4–6, 2026. Participants will meet with legislators to discuss priorities impacting community transportation systems and partners, particularly in advance of the Surface Transportation Reauthorization and other key transit legislation. CTAA will coordinate congressional meetings, allowing participants to focus on sharing the unique story of their transit systems.

As an added benefit, all SWTA members may participate at the CTAA member rate of $299, which includes briefings, scheduled meetings, meals, and an invitation to the SWTA Bullfeathers Breakfast prior to Capitol Hill visits.
