CARTS Launches New On-Demand Service in Marble Falls
The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) launched a new on-demand transit service, CARTS Now, in Marble Falls on Monday, November 7. With programs in Bastrop, Taylor, and Lockhart, CARTS is excited to add Marble Falls to the CARTS Now service area and provide on-demand, curb-to-curb rides that allow riders to travel quickly and reliably anywhere within the city limits.
To celebrate this new service, CARTS hosted a ribbon-cutting event with the City of Marble Falls, the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce, and other community partners on November 7. Local community members heard from CARTS General Manager, Dave Marsh; Marble Falls Mayor, Richard Westerman and the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce to learn more about this new services and existing CARTS services in the area. “This is now the fourth service launch for CARTS Now and we are very grateful to have the community support we’ve received. This is a much-needed service in the rural areas of Central Texas, and it’s been an honor to lead and expand this effort across the CARTS service area,” said CARTS General Manager, Dave Marsh.
CARTS Now is currently available in the City of Marble Falls Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Rides may be requested through the easy-to-use CARTS Now app, which works like a rideshare app. Riders can set any pickup location and destination within the city limits, and a CARTS Now van will arrive within 15 minutes. Rides can also be arranged by calling the CARTS Now line at 512-505-5666.
“Our community has been patiently waiting for a service like this – and we are thankful for our partnership with CARTS, who has been serving Marble Falls, but is finding innovative and convenient ways for our City to get around,” said Marble Falls Mayor, Richard Westerman.
The convenient app-based booking option is powered by Via, the global leader in TransitTech. Via’s app uses intelligent algorithms to match multiple riders headed in the same direction to provide quick and efficient shared trips without fixed schedules or routes associated with traditional transit options.
