EMBARK receives delivery of final RAPID NW bus

Vehicle delivery completes 9-bus fleet for launch of RAPID NW service later this year

Each of the nine 40-foot RAPID NW buses are powered by compressed natural gas. RAPID service is expected to begin in December, with service testing taking place this fall. The RAPID NW line stretches 9.5 miles with 32 stops. The route connects downtown OKC to Classen Boulevard and Northwest Expressway to Meridian and will integrate into the more extensive EMBARK transit network.

The RAPID NW line will operate seven days per week with service at each stop every 12-15 minutes during peak service. With nearly 40,000 residents and 91,000 jobs along the RAPID NW line, it is estimated more than 20% of the region's employment base is within a half-mile of this new, premium transit service.

RAPID will be added to EMBARK's family of services, including fixed-route bus, OKC Streetcar, Spokies, Oklahoma River Cruises, Mobility Management Services and Downtown Parking.
