Envida’s Gail Nehls Receives Award for Advocacy in Transportation

Colorado Springs nonprofit envida is excited to announce that CEO, Gail Nehls has been awarded The Arc Pikes Peak Region’s Joe Schiappacassee Award for her continued vision and advocacy to provide transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The annual award is presented to community members who are not afraid to “do the right thing” to help individuals with developmental disabilities. The award is named for Joe Schiappacassee, who developed a forum on behavior— a quarterly meeting for caregivers, professionals and family members to talk about behavioral issues of people with developmental disabilities.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” said Nehls. “I accept this recognition on behalf of our entire team at envida, as we continue to provide and fight for access and equality for our community members of all abilities.”
