NCRTD Blue Bus Launches MyBlue™ Ridesharing Service in Edgewood, NM

Edgewood, NM – October 1, 2024 – The North Central Regional Transit District Blue Bus (NCRTD) is happy to announce the launch of its MyBlue™ ridesharing service in Edgewood, New Mexico, starting Tuesday, October 15. The new service will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing residents with a convenient and affordable transportation option within the Edgewood MyBlue™ zone.
Similar to popular ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft, MyBlue™ allows riders to book door-to-door trips via an easy-to-use app or by phone, all for just $1 per trip. Trips may be booked to accommodate up to four passengers. To celebrate this launch, NCRTD is offering a special coupon code "EDGEWOOD," which grants Edgewood riders MyBlue™ free trips through November 15, 2024.
In addition to this innovative new service for Edgewood, NCRTD will be restoring the $1 fare for MyBlue™ trips in the Española and Taos MyBlue™ zones, effective October 15. The fare had been temporarily waived while the Blue Bus adjusted bus service levels due to a shortage of available bus operators and MyBlue™ served as an interim transit solution. Those bus service levels were recently restored.
"We are pleased to expand our MyBlue ridesharing service into Edgewood," said Anthony Mortillaro, Executive Director of NCRTD. "This innovative transportation option not only enhances mobility for residents but also complements our existing free Route 290 commuter bus service to Santa Fe. We believe it will greatly improve access to essential services and job opportunities in the area."
Edgewood Mayor and NCRTD Board Member Kenneth Brennan added, "The introduction of MyBlue™ in Edgewood is a significant step forward for our community. It provides an affordable and reliable transportation solution that will make a real difference in the daily lives of our residents. We appreciate NCRTD's commitment to enhancing our local transit options."
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this new service and experience the convenience of MyBlue™. For more information, including how to download the app and book rides, visit ncrtd.org/myblue.
