Fall 2021 Legislation & Policy Presentations

At recent conferences held by the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) in Richmond, Va. and the Arizona Transit Association (AzTA) in Mesa, Ariz., SWTA Executive Director Rich Sampson shared presentations on key details of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework/Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) – the latter is the official name of the legislation that was signed into law this past Monday by President Biden – along with topics on the challenge of small transit vehicle delays, winning back riders post-COVID and ideas for local match.

For the presentation on the the BIF/IIJA at the AzTA Conference, Rich was joined by Bob Holmes of Nexxus Consulting, LLC, which represents the legislative priorities of several transit systems in Washington, D.C. The presentation on small vehicle delays was held during the winter meeting of the American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO), held as part of CTAA’s conference in Richmond.

Rich’s presentations are available for download below and he is available to provide additional details or answer questions on these topics at rsampson@swta.org or 2225.270.0855.
