South West Transit Association
SWTA to Host 2026 Bullfeathers Breakfast in Washington, D.C.
The South West Transit Association (SWTA) will host its 2026 Bullfeathers Breakfast, sponsored by Complete Coach Works, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 7:00–8:30 AM (EST) at the historic Bullfeathers Restaurant in Washington, D.C.
This annual gathering commemorates the founding of SWTA in 1980, which began at Bullfeathers Restaurant, and honors the association’s deep roots in advocacy and collaboration at the national level. More than four decades later, the Bullfeathers Breakfast remains a meaningful tradition that brings SWTA members together in the nation’s capital to reflect on progress, strengthen partnerships, and reaffirm a shared commitment to advancing public transportation.
Each year, SWTA members convene to share legislative, policy, and advocacy successes from their communities, states, and across the Southwest region. The event provides a valuable opportunity for transit leaders to exchange insights on current challenges and opportunities while celebrating the collective impact of SWTA’s work at the federal, state, and local levels.
A highlight of the breakfast is the presentation of SWTA’s Legislator of the Year Award, which recognizes an elected official who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and support for public transportation. This award underscores the importance of strong partnerships between transit agencies and policymakers in ensuring accessible, reliable, and forward-looking mobility solutions.
Open to all SWTA Regular, Professional, and Business Members, the Bullfeathers Breakfast is free to attend with advance registration. The event offers a unique forum for networking with fellow transit professionals, engaging in meaningful dialogue around advocacy priorities, and honoring the legacy that continues to guide SWTA’s mission today.
