Southwest Transit Association Announces Heather Dalmolin as New Executive Director

The South West Transit Association (SWTA) Board of Directors is proud to announce Heather Dalmolin as the new Executive Director of SWTA, marking an exciting new chapter of leadership, growth, and innovation for the organization and the transit professionals it serves across the Southwest region.


Dalmolin brings more than two decades of public transit leadership, operational expertise, financial stewardship, and industry advocacy to the role. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Mountain Line in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she has successfully led strategic growth initiatives, regulatory efforts, operational advancements, workforce development, and funding opportunities that have strengthened public transportation services and long-term sustainability.

Heather’s transit career began in 2002 at Mountain Line, where she started in finance and steadily advanced through leadership positions in grants administration, compliance, human resources, information technology, customer service, and executive operations. Her experience leading complex transit initiatives and fostering strategic partnerships has made her a respected voice across the public transportation industry.

In addition to her agency leadership, Dalmolin has demonstrated a deep commitment to regional collaboration and industry advancement. She has served on the SWTA Board of Directors since 2022 as Secretary-Treasurer and has also served on the Arizona Transit Association Board since 2020, helping strengthen conversations around mobility, policy, innovation, and funding strategies that support transit agencies and communities across the region.

“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Executive Director at SWTA,” said Heather Dalmolin. “This role aligns closely with my passion for transit and mobility, and I’m energized to help guide the association into its next chapter of growth and impact.”

SWTA Chairwoman Kendra McGeady shared her confidence in Dalmolin’s leadership and vision for the future of the association.

As Executive Director, Dalmolin will help guide SWTA’s continued growth, strengthen partnerships, support member agencies, and elevate advocacy efforts that advance public transit, mobility, and transportation solutions across the organization’s eight-state region: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

This leadership transition reflects SWTA’s continued commitment to innovation, collaboration, and supporting the transit professionals, agencies, and communities that make up SWTA Nation.
