SWTA Is Hiring a Membership & Operations Coordinator

The South West Transit Association (SWTA) is seeking an organized, proactive, and member-focused professional to join its team as a full-time Membership & Operations Coordinator.
This remote position will provide hands-on support for SWTA’s membership services, events, programs, communications coordination, and day-to-day association operations. The coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with SWTA members, volunteer leaders, board members, committees, sponsors, industry partners, vendors, and the association’s contracted communications and marketing team.
The ideal candidate is a relationship builder who enjoys helping members, managing details, coordinating projects, and keeping multiple priorities moving forward. Responsibilities will include:
Managing membership applications, renewals, onboarding, records, and member inquiries
Supporting member recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts
Coordinating registration and administrative logistics for conferences, Leadership Lab, webinars, board meetings, and training programs
Assisting with sponsor, exhibitor, speaker, and attendee coordination
Maintaining organizational calendars, records, reports, meeting materials, and follow-up items
Gathering accurate membership, event, sponsor, and program information for SWTA communications
Providing administrative and project support to the Executive Director
This is a fully remote position, but the selected candidate must live in one of SWTA’s eight member states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas. Occasional travel will be required for SWTA conferences, Leadership Lab, board meetings, and other association events.
Position Details
Employment: Full-time, remote
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Travel: Approximately 10%–20% annually

Applicants should have at least two years of relevant experience in membership services, customer service, nonprofit administration, association management, event coordination, or a related field. Strong organizational, communication, recordkeeping, and project-coordination skills are essential.
