South West Transit Association celebrates new leadership at ATA and looks forward to continued collaboration in strengthening public transportation across Arkansas.

The South West Transit Association (SWTA) is pleased to welcome Solomon Graves to his new leadership role with the Arkansas Transit Association (ATA), an important partner in advancing public transportation throughout Arkansas and across SWTA Nation.

With nearly 20 years of experience in public policy, government relations, community engagement, and organizational leadership, Graves brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong background in building partnerships, navigating complex challenges, and advancing initiatives that serve communities.

SWTA congratulates ATA on this exciting new chapter and looks forward to working alongside Solomon to support transit agencies, strengthen industry partnerships, and advance public transportation throughout the region.

A Career Built on Leadership and Public Service

Before joining ATA, Graves served as Senior Manager of Local Government Affairs for Comcast's Arkansas markets, where he led community investment initiatives, strengthened government partnerships, and supported network expansion efforts across the state.

His professional background also includes leading a multi-state high-speed internet initiative for a regional nonprofit organization and operating his own consulting firm.

Graves previously served as Cabinet Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Corrections under former Governor Asa Hutchinson. During his tenure, he implemented reforms focused on operational efficiency, public safety, and program delivery.

He also served on the Arkansas State Claims Commission following an appointment by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Throughout his career, Graves has demonstrated an ability to bring together public agencies, private organizations, and community stakeholders to address challenges and create opportunities for meaningful progress.

Recognized Leadership and Experience

Graves' contributions to public service and leadership have earned recognition throughout Arkansas.

He has been featured in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette High Profile series and recognized by Arkansas Business Publishing Group as both a 40 Under 40 Honoree and one of the 250 Most Influential Arkansans.

He earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a master's degree in Public Administration from Webster University.

A Little Rock resident, Graves enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.

Strengthening Transit Partnerships Across SWTA Nation

Arkansas is an important part of SWTA's eight-state region, and the continued strength of our state transit associations is essential to advancing the shared goals of public transportation agencies and the communities they serve.

SWTA values its relationship with the Arkansas Transit Association and the opportunities that collaboration creates for advocacy, education, professional development, and industry engagement.

As ATA enters this new chapter, SWTA looks forward to building on that partnership, sharing ideas, and working together to support the future of public transportation in Arkansas.

Please join SWTA in extending a warm welcome and congratulations to Solomon Graves!

We look forward to working together and wish him continued success in his new role.

Welcome to SWTA Nation, Solomon!
