Celebrating Innovation in SWTA Nation: Congratulations, SporTran!

What an exciting milestone for public transportation! SWTA Executive Director Heather Dalmolin joined SporTran CEO and SWTA Immediate Past Chair Dinero Washington in Shreveport on August 27 to celebrate the unveiling of EVOLVE, Shreveport-Bossier’s first autonomous public transit initiative. The celebration included a live autonomous vehicle demonstration and brought transportation leaders together to see firsthand how SporTran is exploring the future of mobility. Supported by nearly $1 million in U.S. DOT SMART Grant funding, the initiative represents an exciting investment in technology, accessibility, workforce preparation, and innovation.

Congratulations to Dinero’ and the entire SporTran team on an incredible accomplishment for Louisiana and SWTA Nation!

Build Your Own AI Assistant at Leadership Lab

We're adding another great speaker to the SWTA Summer Leadership Lab lineup!

Crys Black, fractional CMO and AI enablement advisor, will lead Work Smarter. Market Better.: Build Your AI Assistant during Tuesday's Marketing & Communications Lab.

Crys brings more than 20 years of B2B technology marketing experience, began her career programming in the early days of the web, serves on the board of the Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group, teaches with Women in AI Labs, and writes for Colorado AI News. And there's another connection we love: before any of that, Crys drove a bus.

This isn't an AI lecture. Attendees will spend 90 hands-on minutes learning practical AI skills, important data privacy basics, and then build their own AI assistant around a real task they want to make easier at their transit agency.

No AI experience is required. Bring your laptop and one task you'd love to stop doing manually.
